China's Auto Exports Soar, Led by Geely and XPENG in Overseas Expansion

In the context of globalization, China's automotive industry is moving towards the world stage at an unprecedented speed. Today, a series of auto export data once again confirms this trend, with domestic well-known brands such as Geely Automobile and XPENG Motors standing out particularly, demonstrating the strong competitiveness and internationalization pace of China's automotive industry. Geely Automobile Group today announced its export sales data for the first half of 2024, with cumulative sales reaching 197,400 units, representing a year-on-year growth of over 67%. This growth rate not only set a new high but also exceeded the overall growth rate of China's auto exports by more than two times. In 30 countries worldwide, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, etc., Geely has successfully launched 12 high-value products, achieving double growth in exports and terminal sales. Geely Automobile has a global presence in 76 countries, with over 650 overseas sales and service outlets covering five major regions worldwide, including Europe, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. As a high-end brand under Geely, Lynk & Co has also achieved remarkable results in overseas markets. Together with models such as Lynk & Co 06, 01, 03, 03+, 05, and 09, it covers various market segments in overseas mid-to-high-end markets. In the first half of the year, Lynk & Co expanded into two new markets, Azerbaijan and the Philippines, and completed product launches. At the same time, it opened four dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Baku, Azerbaijan; Manila, Philippines; and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as well as a European experience center in Madrid, Spain. Another domestic new energy vehicle brand, XPENG Motors, has also shown strong development momentum in overseas markets. XPENG Motors signed a strategic cooperation joint development agreement with Volkswagen Group on electronic and electrical architecture technology, aiming to accelerate the development of electronic and electrical architectures and expand the scope of cooperation. XPENG Motors has entered 24 countries and regions worldwide and plans to enter more than 60 markets by the end of 2024. With intelligence as its hallmark for overseas expansion, XPENG Motors not only continues to expand in European markets but also launches products in core markets in Thailand, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and other continents, further deepening its global layout. In addition, China's passenger bus exports have also maintained a high growth trend. In the first half of the year, passenger bus exports grew positively year-on-year for six consecutive months, with exports exceeding 5,000 units in May and June consecutively. The reasons for the growth in passenger bus exports mainly include improved production efficiency, product quality, and continuous expansion of overseas markets. Currently, China's passenger buses are mainly exported to more than 30 countries and regions, with overseas orders showing significant growth, and production lines have been scheduled to August. Overall, China's auto exports are showing a good trend of continuous growth. Domestic brands such as Geely and XPENG are gradually gaining recognition from overseas consumers with their quality products, advanced technology, and comprehensive overseas layouts. With the continuous development and growth of China's automotive industry, it is believed that more domestic brands will enter the world stage in the future, bringing more quality choices to global consumers.
