On January 24, we learned from the media that Tesla is set to commence production of a new electric vehicle, codenamed "Redwood," in June 2025. The vehicle is expected to be positioned as a compact crossover, with the possibility of further price reductions. It is reported that Tesla sent price quotes for the Redwood to suppliers in 2023, forecasting a production rate of 10,000 units per week.
Tesla anticipates a 21% increase in deliveries in 2024, falling below Elon Musk's annual target set three years ago of 50%. Musk stated that Tesla is developing two new vehicle models, with annual sales potentially reaching 5 million units. There are also reports that Tesla plans to manufacture a more affordable autonomous ride-sharing vehicle and an entry-level electric car based on the same vehicle architecture, priced at around $25,000.
The next-generation vehicle architecture at Tesla, internally codenamed "NV9X," is expected to spawn two or more models. Additionally, Tesla plans to establish new factories in locations such as Berlin, Germany, and India, to produce more budget-friendly electric vehicles.
